HULL AND APPENDAGES

  • The hull is of sandwich composite construction using 1200gm² quadriaxial - stitched fabrics and a balsacore composite material, but solid GRP below waterline.
  • This gives a stiff laminate with excellent strength and fatigue properties.
  • The engine beds are of GRP.
  • Sea-cocks under water line are of a silicon bronze material and located in accessible locations.
  • Hose connections to inboard side of sea-cocks have two hose clamps.
  • Standard gelcoat colour is white.
  • Bottom primed and 3 coats dark blue anti-fouling applied.
  • Rudders are solid boasting a 45mm solid stainless steel shaft, complete Whitlock steering system with single steering wheel, operating an open wire sheave system.
  • Structural bulkheads are of plywood laminated to hull and deck.
  • Bulkhead thickness is 22mm.
  • Side decals in 5-year UV resistant vinyl. Standard colour is dark blue.
  • Vessel's name supplied. (transom only)

DECK AND FITTINGS

ENGINES
  • Two x Vetus Mitsubishi Marine diesel engines Model M4-17 with gearbox and shaft
  • Both freshwater cooled, STBD side coupled to a 30L Calorifier for hot water.
  • Each engine is mounted on a specially moulded bed.
  • Output is 30.9KW / 42 HP at 3000 Rpm.
  • Wet exhaust system by Vetus comprising of water trap and gooseneck
  • Three bladed manganese bronze propeller, size 16 x 11
  • Fuel capacity is 600L tank with sight gauge and shut off valve.
  • Vetus fuel filter/water separator in each engine room.

  • Two manual 100 1/min bilge pumps in each AFT bedroom.
  • Outlets are above water level and discharge overboard.

ELECTRICAL
  • On board DC electrics are 12V with two wire-insulated return.
  • Wires are sized to minimize voltage drop.
  • All light current conductors carrying an excess of 50 Amps are 50mm² copper PVC.
  • 220 AC wiring is 2,5mm silicon tinned three-wire system.
  • AC wiring is terminated in the box outlets.
  • There are nine 2 pin Euro-American power point AC outlet plugs around the yacht.
  • All light current circuits are protected by Carling DC circuit breakers.
  • Batteries - the ship's auxiliary load consists of 6 x 105 AHR Deltec batteries.
  • The breakers are medium break and are not influenced by ambient temperature changes.
  • A separate battery is supplied for engine starting.
  • For good heavy current termination, copper tinned bus bars are used.
  • The 24-way DC main switch panel is located in the Nav Station.
